Hi.

I've tried compiling the theme.

I run ./configure --prefix="a lot of directories" but I always get this:

configure: error: you need to install kdelibs first

and if I quering the rpm database I get this:

$rpm -qa | grep kdelib
kdelibs-devel-3.1.4-0.9x.1
kdelibs-3.1.4-0.9x.1

whyyyyyyyyyyyyy?

i must say this is *the* best style i've used for KDE. i have only one suggestion.

please make the toolbars flat. if you can't part with the curvy look of the toolbars, pleeeease make it an option or something.

Are we talking about the same toolbars? As far as I can see, the toolbars in Plastik are already quite (too?) flat.

A few days ago, I got a mail from David M Sirkin which suggested that he is going to work on a Plastik GTK style which will be based on Mandrake's Galaxy.

I need a 9.2 RPM for Plastik; after I upgraded from 9.1 the win decoration doesn't work anymore :(

The previewscreens are not up-to-date, are they?

Report

No, they are not. The scroll bar thumbs by default have dots instead of the lines... despite that the previews should match 0.3.9.

Oh ok, I just noticed that the Taskbar on the kicker didn't have any borders around it (and liked it). But I guess that doesn't depend on the theme but rather what version of Kde is running? Anyway... the theme is great, haven't used anything else for quite a while now.

You must install -devel packages for kde.

this is IMHO the best i've ever seen in KDE Artwork. Using the color theme "PLASTIK" acordingly to your style results in a look which is overriding Windows XP in its Best by far. Maybe the "Plastik"-Style should be the standard skin for all future releases of KDE.

Thanks for this great work

Is there some way to have an animated progress bar in Plastick, like in Keramik and OS X?

Something just like this, excet in Plastick style: http://www.kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=6345

BTW: Dd the above project make it into Keramik CVS, and if it didn't do you know why not?

Yeah, at least in KDE 3.2. Or in the next release on KDE-Look if there will be any... ;)

Yes, it did.

Thanks for your Plastik theme, it's the best KDE theme I've seen so far.

Could you please add the same kind of highlighting like for buttons also for tabs? That could make the tabs an easier target (the highlighting makes things really easier to use), and also better looking and more consistent with the rest IMO.

It would be also nice if the scrollbar had some "pressed" state, like some other themes have, or maybe just some sort of highlight. And the scrollbar width could be configurable, as it tends to be a bit thin on higher resolutions (especially the combobox down arrow can be quite difficult to click at, it's too narrow for me).

great work!! i'm using this on KDE3.2 Alpha 2 :) but i have a suggestion for this, is it possible to create a variation of plastic which looks like the Longhorn-Style? here's a screenshot i've found on arts.gnome.org here's the picture:

http://art.gnome.org/images/thumbnails/metacity/MCity-Longhorn.png

what do You think?

When a combobox has focus, but is not open, you get a 'focus rectangle' drawn *and* the text turns white.

The white text is almost unreadable against the 'button' gradient, and is unnecessary. The focus rectangle should be all the indicator you need, no...?

To check this out, look at the 'Effects' tab in the control panel for 'Styles'. Click the down arrow on one of the GUI effects options to open the combo box, then click the arrow again to close it. The box will now appear 'focused'.

./configure --prefix=/usr --datadir=/usr/share --libdir=/usr/lib

My only guess is that you forgot to use "--prefix=/usr" while "./configure'ing".
If this doesn't help, I don't know what the problem is, sorry.
